The Creation Empty

*The story teller begins in a soft tone.*

In the beginning, there was one, and one was all.

Vasivia, the Elder Goddess.

For an eternity did she rule her world of nothing, alone with nothing but her thoughts, and her wish for... more. Of this wish was born something to fill the endless void of nothingness of which she was the Queen, the sun and moon, two pinpoints of light in the endless void.

But she grew lonely, and of her wish for company, four sons were born, all vastly different from each other.

The first, Jonathan, was born with hair as golden as the sun, and skin as fair as the snow. His temper was much as a spring breeze, calm and gentle, of the brothers, he was the most understanding, his eyes were a soft, sky blue. The second, Laviath, was tall and lithe, bearing long, brown hair with skin the color of cinnamon, his ears were pointed and his features sharp. He was withdrawn, preferring to stay away from his brothers’ quarrels and to be on his own.The third brother, Ovrid, was shorter than his siblings, bearing a firey red beard and mane of hair, he had a stout build, his skin was pale. Of his Brothers he was the most moody, but was the most creative and strong-willed.And finally, the fourth brother Dah’gruh, was born with eyes as red as blood, and skin as green as the grass beneath us, two large stuck out of his mouth, giving him an animalistic appearance. He had a temper as violent as a storm cloud, he was the most brutal of the brothers.

For countless centuries the brothers quarreled, knowing that eventually one must take their Mother’s place as the Elder God. Eventually, Vasivia grew tired of her children’s fighting, commanding them in a stern tone.

“Your fighting shall cease! A battleground shall be made so that others may determine your fates.” and so, at her wish, the world was created. A great blast of light and heat as the elements were created out of nothing, as by sheer force of will the Elder Goddess created existence. “In your image, I create the Races, your armies for you to control.” she spoke, and onto the world were thrust the races, two of each.

The Humans, Elise and David, created in Jonathan’s image. The Elves, Ivethia and Aelith- The Great Mother and Great Father, our ancestors- created in Laviath’s image. The Dwarves, Thala and Argas created in the image of Ovrid. And of course, the Orcs, Gah’lira and Vo’tah created as the army for Dah’gruh.

The Elder Goddess then spoke to the races, gracing them with her voice, “You are my grandchildren, modeled in the image of my sons. You shall control the fate of all.” and the races answered, “Yes, Elder Goddess.”

The Goddess turned to her children and said, “Instruct them, where shall they live?”

The brother’s stared in awe at their Mother’s creation, and to the surprise of all the brothers, the first to speak was Laviath, who stared in awe at the forests, rapt by their beauty, “There, you shall live in the...” he paused, deciding what to call the large, green structures, “Trees.”
The next to speak, was Jonathan, who saw the vast plateaus of the planes, “There, you shall live amongst the grasses.” he nodded to the planes.
Ovrid started to speak, but was quickly cut off by Dah’gruh, who pointed commandingly at the desert “There! Only the strong may survive in such a place.” he snorted, content with his choice.
The last to choose, Ovrid, looked around the surface of the world, contemplating his displeasure with his remaining choices before his eyes settled on a mountain, and he spoke, “Aye... Let the others live on the surface, but you... You shall live within the mountain, in great caverns and caves.” And with that, the races bowed to their patrons, and started towards their goals.

This is how the races, and this world began... And one day, we must complete our purpose. The great war is coming, children, be prepared.
